Shirley is greatly missed! Shirley had the traditional Labrador Retriever disposition and body build with an extremely dark, Fox Red coat of hair just like her mother, Clare and her father, Gunnar.

Indeed, she was a good worker in the field, had strong scenting powers, tracked game well and had a great love of the water. She produced some great pups with Decoy, in 2011 and we bred their pup, Raven to Philip in 2013.

Shirley also had a litter with Richard in 2012 and the deep Fox Red coat color has been strengthened in the genes of each these breedings. Although her litter in 2012 was only one puppy, he developed into an excellent antler shed retriever.

In addition, we bred Shirley to International Champion Richard’s Trial By Jury again in 2015. She had 7 puppies in the litter which were all deep fox red. This was Shirley’s last litter and we kept a female, Alanna’s Trial By Jury to continue Shirley and Richard’s bloodlines. One of the deepest fox reds we have ever seen, Shirley was a real pleasure to hunt with, have in our kennel and our home.
