Blitz joined our kennel when he was five years old. There are eight CH and DC champions in his AKC pedigree and it showed. His style of hunting would take your breath away. He would go wherever the birds were, freeze immediately on a point, even with is body contorted and he would not move a muscle until given the command to retrieve. There were times he may have held point for 15 to 20 minutes before we found him, but he didn’t move until the shot was fired. He had unending energy to hunt and he had a strong nose that wouldn’t quit. The AKC must have written their German Shorthair pointer description after hunting with Blitz…he fits it to a “T”. Blitz is 13 years old in the photo above, on point and ready to please the hunters. It was his last hunting season, but he treated it like it was his first! We still talk about Blitz and miss him terribly.
