Richard was an excellent British, Fox Red Labrador Retriever out of Victoria and Arthur’s 2009 litter. His conformation, build and temperament made him a great candidate for the show ring.

He began showing when he was 9 months old and won Best Puppy in his very first show. He earned his International Champion title when he was 15 months old, was Best of Breed for the International All-Breed Canine Association in Marietta, Georgia in 2011.

He was built with the true British Labrador boxy head and boxy body. His Fox Red color was very strong. He completed his field and water training at our ranch with flying colors. He really enjoyed hunting and retrieving, ranged close and had a strong nose.

We used him as a stud dog at Pheasant Ridge Ranch to continue the great British, boxy, Fox Red Labrador Retrievers. He helped produce some very fine Labradors! We bred him with Shirley in 2015 and all 7 of the pups were extremely dark fox red with great boxy heads and bodies. His litter with Shirley, in 2012 produced only one pup and it became a sheds for an avid deer hunter in Iowa. Although Richard was tested as being EIC affected, he never showed any symptoms of exercise induced collapse in all of the hunting and running that he did in his life. He never produced an active EIC pup. I wish we had used him for more litters…he was awesome!
