Leonard was born in our home and was an asset in our kennel, hunting and training efforts. Both Holly and Blue’s hunting strengths were very evident in their son, Leonard’s hunting style and personality. Leonard would naturally pace himself with the pace of the hunters. He roamed close and with a smooth back and forth movement to cover the field well. He retrieved out of the water and would get down in the streams to find the birds. Leonard looked you in the eye when he retrieved a bird and brought it to your hand. He was a very fine representative of the AKC German Shorthair Pointer breed and we are glad we kept his genes active in our breeding with the Libby-Leonard Litter 2000. Leonard hunted for us for 13 years and retrieved like he always did in the last pheasant and quail season of his life. He will be greatly missed.
