Kate is one of our pups from Katherine and Decoy’s litter in 2010.  Her mother was an exceptional pointing Labrador and her father was a terrific International Champion. Kate shows the strengths in her pedigree as she hunts with flawless stamina.

Indeed, Kate’s mom was the easiest dog to walk the fields with in the best and worst conditions.  Her mother would point steady to shot and retrieved with ease. Katherine would never quit until she was told to.

Understandably, with her genetics Kate hunts like her mom and has both of her parents’ smooth, “I want to help you”, personalities. Kate keys in on commands and really works to please you. She ranges close in the field, points, is steady to shot, and has strong retrieving skills with incredible scenting powers. She eagerly retrieves out of the water and does so with the true Labrador disposition. We really enjoy seeing her point like her mother did.

The blend of both the angular and boxy Labrador in her genetics has given her a strong, boxy body.  She has the right focus on pleasing the hunters. She is a great asset to our hunting efforts. Kate looked like a yellow lab until she was almost three years old and that is when her winter coat came in Fox Red and it has remained. We were very surprised to finally get to see her mother’s red coat showing.

Kate was the perfect mother to both her awesome litter in 2015 and her litter in 2017. Her pups from the 2015 litter are great companions and are working in field trials and have also become Handicap Assitance dogs.  We got such excellent feedback from their owners that made it easy to decide we should breed her with Tanner the second time in 2017.  We have their pups, Kaelyn and Bob in our kennel and hunting with us.

Unfortunately, we only bred Kate 2 times.  Many more dog owners could have benefited and enjoyed having one of her pups if we had not been so selfish to have her hunt with us instead of breeding her.  Kate is a phenomenal hunter and companion!!!
