Kelsey in a Duck Blind | Kelsey on Point |
Kelsey’s mother, Kate, was born in our home and is an exceptional hunter. Kelsey’s dad, “Tanner”, HRCH Torg’s Hunting Memories MH has given us two litters of easy to train, hard-working labs that have remarkable dispositions and are great examples of what Labradors should be made of.
Our son has had Kelsey since she was a pup and completed her training for field and water. Kelsey is a natural in the field and ranges with a good distance in her zigzag. Her nose is strong, holds her point well, and she can find any dead bird in the day or the night.
She loves sitting in the blind and watching for ducks and she concentrates on birds much harder than the hunters she sits with! She doesn’t take a nap…she is constantly scanning the sky for ducks and listening for their calls. She is an incredibly calm, alert and well-disciplined hunter. We are thrilled to have her available for breeding in our program.
Indeed, we found a match for Kelsey! We bred her with GMPR HRCH Black Ice’s Super Sonic Scooter MH QAA QA2 and had the litter of a lifetime! These pups have gone to become a police department narcotics dog, field trailers, hunters, PTSD assistance dog, and hunting companions. My son. Kevin kept a female pup, Kimber, completed her training and she hunts with her mother. We kept a female, Kaelyn, for our kennel and she produced some fine pups in 2021.
We bred Kelsey, one last time, with Torg’s Kickin’ Mule (Murray) in 2022. She delivered 10 incredible pups— 3 males and 7 females! There were 5 that went to become hunters and 5 pups were enrolled int he C.A.R.E.S. (www.caresks.com) training program to become Professional Therapy Dogs, Handicap Assistance Dogs, Hearing Assistance Dogs, Search and Rescue and Law Enforcement, Narcotics & Bomb Detection Dogs. Kelsey has retired from breeding and will continue her efforts to hunt and bring food to the table.
There are four generations of Labs that started with our Katherine. Every generation, thus far has given us such great representatives of the Labrador Retriever breed which we are very thankful to have had!
