We bred Kate to Tanner, an exceptional Hunting Retriever Champion and Master Hunter Labrador whose pedigree is loaded with titled, field trial champions from three countries. Below, you can see his father, FC AFC “Snapper“ and his mother “Maize” which are both fox red labs.
Tanner’s grandfather on the sires side is FC AFC Hunting Hills Coriander and the grandfather on his mother’s side is FC, AFC, CAFC Money talks II “Copper”. When you view Tanner’s pedigree, you will see there are 46 titled dogs that range from Junior to Master hunter all the way to FC, AFC, or NFC, CNFC, GMHR and 1984 NAFC with 1983 Hall of Fame titles and more! All of these occur in just 5 Generations of his pedigree and there are many more after that. Review all of the dogs in Tanner’s pedigree and you will see even more titles in the different dogs. Hard working dog ethics are deep in his genes!
Kate is from our Katherine, a pointing lab and International Champion, Simbetha’s Just A Decoy. She is an excellent hunter with a strong nose, very intelligent and a good temperament. She ranges close and is steady on point. She easily finds birds dead or alive.
With these genes, there is great potential in these puppies to have the traits that are sought after in hunting and competing labs. We have been told by owners of many of the pups that they have grown into excellent hunters and terrific companions too! We are very pleased with this litter and look forward to breeding Kate again!

As these pups were growing I noticed changes in their coats of hair, completed DNA tests and determined that Kate is a carrier of the recessive, Long Coated Labrador Retriever gene that dates back to the origins of the breed. Tanner must have the long haired gene also. Several of these pups carry coats that are different from the “short, dense, weather resistant” coat of hair, as described by AKC.
This long coat is rarely seen and does not affect the dog’s capabilities, disposition or body build. It just affects the look and texture of the coat of hair. Some of these pups look very unusual with hair longer than a Golden Retriever and others look just like the traditional labs they really are. It is extremely unlikely you will ever see a long coated Labrador.
****All pups were sold with LIMITED REGISTRATION which means the pup you purchase cannot produce AKC registrable litters. However, the pup may participate in most AKC events including Agility, Obedience and Hunting & Field competitions.
