This was Kaelyn’s first litter and there were some exceptional pointing Labs in this litter!  There were 4 puppies in the litter.  The water broke for the first pup, and to save its life, I had to get Kaelyn to a veterinary clinic ASAP.  Since it was a Sunday, there were not a lot of veterinary options.  It seems the completion of an emergency c-section was not realized or implemented by the Blue Pearl Clinic in a timely manner.  Due to their laggardly approach to the critical medical situation, too much time elapsed and the first puppy, the only male, died.  

The 3 females were delivered by c-section and developed nicely.  They were very dark, fox red pups.  They  really stand out in the Labrador world with that coat color! One of the pups was enrolled in  C.A.R.E.S. (www.caresks.com)which is a canine assistance, rehabilitation, education services program that trains dogs for children and persons with single or multiple disabilities of all kinds.  This pup became an assistance dog for someone and enriched their life!

There are plenty of champions on both the sire’s and dam’s pedigrees from a variety of National and International Field Trial competitions in this litter.  Take a look at the pedigrees and you will see pointing, water and field competition titles, as well as multiple Hall of Fame dogs in their pedigrees.   Labs can be taught to point, and very few have the natural instinct that is extremely evident in so many dogs in the sire and dam’s family trees.  You can see  why I have put Murray and Kaelyn together—-let all of the historic abilities be instilled in these pups that were born on April 25th!

It is no surprise that Murray trained so fast and easy, has a very strong nose, is steady to shot.  He sure perseveres in tracking, pointing and retrieving! There are so many multiple Grand Master Pointing Retrievers on both sides of Murray’s parents pedigrees that really confirm where his abilities have come from. Murray really is an incredible dog!

Take a look at Kaelyn’s pedigree and you will see her father, Black Ice’s super Sonic Scooter, MH has contributed even more skills and talent potential to these pups.  Another strong hunting lineage in Kaelyn comes from her great-grandmother, Katherine  a pointing Lab, and her grandmother Kate,  which have not only produced terrific hunters, but they have also been exceptional hunters and companions for us. Even Decoy, Kate’s dad, was a champion with the boxy Labrador build and natural hunting skills.
