Chloe
Chloe is quite a Labrador! Her dad, Tanner, comes from a pedigree with only one dog out of the last 4 generations that is not a Field Trial titled dog. Tanner’s Sire: FC, AFC Gunstock’s Topshelve Snap Decision, (FC AFC Hunting Hills Coriander X Cougars Goin For Alleyoopmgp MH, QAA) and Dam: Muddywater Amazing Grace (FC AFC, CFC Money Talks II x White Oak BC’s Jenny, daughter of FC AFC Fox Hollow’s Little Buddy, have produced excellent working dogs and so has Tanner!
Kate, Chloe’s mother, comes from an exceptional pointing lab (Katherine)and a show ring champion (Decoy) who would have been happier roaming the fields and retrieving from the water than being in the show ring! They were both incredible to watch working the fields and retrieving for us!
We have used our Kate and Tanner to have two different litters of proven pups with calm dispositions, easy to train and willing to please. Chloe is one of them! She works land and water, is steady to shot and retrieves with ease. Her nose is strong and she sure can find the birds! She just won’t quit! Chloe’s handler was amazed at how easily she trained.
As you can see from the photos, Chloe is undoubtedly a “Long Haired Labrador Retriever”. Genetic testing has been completed to determine she is not only 100% Labrador Retriever, but is also a 100% long haired Labrador. In the future, we will be extremely selective in what stud is used and hopefully eliminate the long haired gene from any future pups. It is a gene that comes from the origin of the breed, but is not seen very often. Thankfully, Kate and Tanner’s pups are exceptional adult Labradors, which is the only reason why we would attempt a breeding.
We had an exceptional litter with Chloe & Murray in 2020 which produced some very fine looking pups. The 7 pups were selected for a variety of uses in hunting field and water and only one will be a companion. They reside in 6 different states and we look forward to hearing about their development over the years. It was a pleasure having this litter to continue both parent’s admirable attributes. Chloe’s owner has retired her from breeding and we will always wonder what great pups we didn’t get to have from her.
